The first two track are the only thing saving this from being a zero - genuinely WORSE than the big day if you get rid of those
Better than any previous tapes he has released but he still grapples with the same problems, most noticeably using loops and instrumentation that clashes together - and not in an intentionally dissonant way, but in a way where it impacts the listenability of the record. Some of the percussion used like trap snares for example being used randomly in the middle of a really good grunge riff is too dichotomic for me to work effectively without better mixing and a better arraingment. I genuinely do ... read more
Thanks to Zaid Izar and Dori for recommending me to check this out.
After listening to this three song project - I come away a little bit subdued let’s say - if Troy is actually recording those guitar parts (and drum parts too subsidiarily) I think he a huge amount of potential. There is something there for sure, however a lot of the instrumentation is very rudimentary and I feel if I went onto a YouTube sound library I could find something near identical. I could love to see him ... read more
It’s not 100 but I’m angry peacock is retiring what a punk ass bitch - doesn’t deserve a long review
The song begins with Peacock declaring, “2004 I was in the mix”—which, given his current output, suggests he was either fermenting in his own poor life choices or already plotting the downfall of modern rap. The line “I was not born in '96” isn’t just a flex; it’s a cry for help.
Then comes the pièce de résistance: (fuck accents btw sacré bleu my ass)
“Wanna see you suck 90 dicks / Piss in a cup take tiny ... read more
Track 1 - somehow Peacock’s inner whiteness spawned in on the second verse idk how he managed to get that but he’s clearly been spending too much time with Tommy Robinson
Track 2 - the transition was so fire from track 1, puts Slayr to shame - 808’s have my knees weak, the lyrics is what I’ll show to my offshore Indian colleagues in order to get them to like me. Also YEAH! Also Ben shows up but no Angelina? There’s some type of misandry missing from this project ... read more
At times the album takes itself too serious and that works to irs own detriment, it’s impossible however for the peacock formula to be inherently bad of course
With DAWN, Peacock (Dru Pea Cock) delivers a project that positions itself as a raw, unfiltered statement of identity. Across seven tracks, the album blends heavy trap production, sharp cadence control, and unapologetically explicit lyricism. While the content is provocative and often drenched in erotic imagery and profanity, the technical execution reveals a surprising level of discipline beneath the surface.
The opener, “Soul of the Streets,” sets a moody, atmospheric tone. Built ... read more
If it’s snowing and you’re going on a walk and blueslides comes on, you’ve peaked in life
Need more time to listen; I feel production wise it’s more of a grandiose version of Wolf which I don’t mind. A lot of the beats here give me a Super Mario Cloud Level vibe iykyk.
Hasn’t blown me away with the lyrical content or anything however the stuff about his Dad is pretty heartbreaking at the end.
The hook on Judge Judy is a little off kilter but the production ad the end of the song is amazing
Sticky…is a song that exists, rly gives me Tamale vibes tho
We went from Zaid is ass to Zaid is Class WE DID ITTT.
Will come back and inevitably change the score higher once I get a few more listens but yeah, if this are scraps, then jeeeez
(Edit 84–>90: amazing record, and it doesn’t even have an underlying narrative or anything that I would expect a record of this rating to have. Honestly a modern day classic.)
