i dont know what to write tbh, this album is breaking me in pieces every time i listen to it, especially songs like Video/Census Designated. Its a great mix of shoegaze/grunge with hyperpop influences (especially on the title track). I dont know why but every time I listen to this album I feel a great amount of compassion and relatabilty towards Jane here even tho my life is like 180 degrees different. But the longer I think about it the longer I feel like we are mostly the same lmao.

i will give it few more listens and then say change the review but yeah its fun
I remember when this album came out with big hype on twitter and idk (idk) till this day why but i heard about it and decided to check his 2023 mixtape first. I think I did it just to delay the listening and maybe check if its his first good project or sth, i cant remember.
What i do remember is the shock i had while listening to new david bowie and other heavy drum/bass songs on this album like!??!? It is much denser than hnpm, it is more sharp, focused and heavier then those midwest emo ... read more
the worst thing about glaive's music is that this guy has soo much potential but his projects often feel half-baked at the end of the day
tbh i have this problem with all of his albums, i think his most coherent one is i care soo much, but even that record has those weird production choices, mixing or oversimplified lyrics and while i dont like the formula of folk song into digicore tracks this record is the closest one to making those genre switches seem less obnoxious.

sometimes after listening to maaaany albums that touch on grief, depression, lack of meaning, and feeling lost i often relate to the "art is sucking life out of me" comment. and its not like oh i get sad after listening to sad songs, its more like u love the sincerity in the music, you take it personal and u start to notice that this music starts to control your mood for days
this album is really something else, after watching prof skye's review of it i kinda started to see all ... read more
i didnt like it at first but damn its soo charming! the instrumentals vary from country esque opener Angel's Eye to christmasy Where's Your Love Now to hip hop inspired Perfect Hand to autotune piano pop song like Dancing in the Club?!??!
tbh its not even variety that steals the show, in my opinion the charm factor plays the most important part, becouse this album feels like it was made with love towards the music itself nor with an agenda to say sth about anything else.

its just soo joyful and catchy man. In a sense i think its a tribute to The Jackson 5 and a transition album towards his immaculate solo career. after i've watched a documentary and read more about his life this album is just bittersweat for me, i cant look at this and Michael's music as a whole without thinking how much he was mixed with mud after his death, rip to the legend
favs include: dont stop till you get enough, off the wall, burn this disco out
its funny that i reviewed his debut like 3 days ago lmao, single is great, catchy as hell and the production omg he is cooking chat
very few recent rap albums had such an amazing atmosphere and coherent sound all the way through (i had it looped for hours back in late 2024)
favs include: intuition, been havin, hoodrat
i would love it more if it didnt remind me of my ex friends but its still a great piece of pop music, higgs has soo much talent in creating those catchy vocal melodies, it reminds me kinda of alt j's music but with a higher tempo and brighter atmosphere (altough its more All Falls Down happy then actually joyful).
favs include: Regret, Distant Past, No Reptiles
its a fun experience but it doesnt feel finished, i think that glaive still has his defining record ahead of him. kurtains is either at his most catchy side or giving just okay performance (i liked his singles more sadly, wish he kept this energy on this lp too)
favs include: the troubles, yaya touré, the band
year ago i was eating mcdonalds at 11pm, coming back from the gym and listening to this masterpiece. truerly a religious experience
its soo fun and great to washing dishes too!1!!1 <<<<<333
damn those early 2020s were a great time for electronic music i must say. after the hyperpop boom many artists tried to change the formula and go into different artistic routes for example brakence into his midwest emo - glitch fusion, glaive into his pop/punk era, jane remover into her grunge/shoegaze etc etc... and i bring this up because this album by Jaron Steele kinda fits for me into this category and i think it succeed in defending itself as an creative project that cant be just put into ... read more
