To Pimp a Butterfly is an incredible album that’s packed with meaning. It explores themes like purpose, identity, depression, and institutional oppression, among many others. The production feels futuristic, and the storytelling is on another level, supported by some of the best lyricism in hip-hop history. In my opinion, Kendrick Lamar even manages to top his previous album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, which is impressive on its own.
