drake has the potential to create some fun dance pop hits (nice for what, nokia), but fails to do so on this album. hoe phase and road trips are genuinely some decently strong dance tracks that suffer from such hollow production and shitty ass lyrics. like road trips is BEGGING for extra synths, but only gets some repeating arpeggios in the background.

definitely one of drake's strongest albums in a long while! most of the songs here are absolute bangers, especially the first half of the album. from the menacing 808s in dust, to the chill yet sinister production on whisper my name, drake shows that when he's trying, he can actually make some darn good music 🤩

then the last third comes in, and it's just mid mid mid skip skip 😴 like its almost character for drake to have some of the most boring and bland songs back to back ... read more
