Incredibly cute album with amazing vocal work, comfy vibes, and catchy songs. Some songs are a tad forgettable though and a lot of them can tend to blend together. The first three are all bangers though
I normally don't rate live albums, but this thing is amazing and makes me so happy
My first pretty good album in my eyes.
I don't mean to stick my head too far up my own anal cavity, but I think this is easily my best project to date and I am so proud of it. Every song turned out exactly how I wanted it to and I finally didn't rush anything lmao. It still has that "BoKKo" sound (so under-produced and a bit messy), but I think the melodies on this go crazy. It's really hard to give my thoughts on this album without sounding like a complete dick. Like if you compare ... read more
A step up from my last project.
This is my second album, and I think it's a bit better than the first. While I may not be proud of everything here, I am proud of myself for improving more and more with every project so far in my own eyes. I always associate this album with my first, What Goes Down The Drain, as they both have a very similar sound--under-produced, chill, raw, and sometimes boring lmao. That sound is simply better here though. The instrumentals are more complex and catchy, the ... read more
This is my first album.
So I thought it'd be fun to make a review on my own album lmao. I'm not going to be praising myself here, just giving my honest thoughts on my own music. When making this thing, I really wanted to create a pretty, lo-fi project with lyrics that are very personal to me, and honest. What came out, was definitely different that what I had in my head. The album artwork was exactly what I imagined it'd be when I had the idea of the album back in 2019. While it is my most ... read more
Pretty alright mellow pop album.
Going into this album, I wasn't expecting much. Nectar, while not "bad" necessarily, was a disappointment for me. It lacked the creative production, pretty melodies, and just overall "Joji" feel. It was also just a pretty generic pop record to me and everything about it was overly-produced. This album, while I like its chill aesthetic and vibe a little bit more, it was about what I was expecting. Some songs such as NIGHT RIDER and Die For ... read more
Incredibly fun, youthful, yet pretty and well-thought out midwest emo/math rock album.
This album is an amazing and super fun listen. The instrumentals and vocals are both full of so much life, energy, and passion. There's always something going on (excluding the very end of the album), and you'll never get bored. The guitar tones are very fittingly warm and always manage to create some really pretty harmonies. I will say though, the vocal style is not for everyone. Listeners of midwest emo ... read more
Beautiful dark piano.
These piano compositions are incredibly pretty. I hold so much nostalgia for every song here from listening to them in the background of old creepypasta narrations of the 2010's. I've also always had an appreciation for aesthetics that mix both beauty and horror. Myuu is a ridiculously talented pianist and deserves every bit of recognition that comes his way.
Great acoustic rendition of one of my top five favorite albums.
While I like the original better, this is a great acoustic version of it. The warm and fuzzy vibes are mostly removed here for a more cold, "zoo-like" aesthetic. What I mean by "zoo-like" is the introduction of more xylophone, and nature-like sounds and instruments. They definitely work with the album's namesake better than the original, even if I prefer the original. Crocodile in particular is spectacular. The ... read more
I love this thing.
If you're looking for polish or clean production, this is not the album for you. This thing is messy, clearly a one-man production, and a little cheesy at times. That's why I love it though. I kind of have a thing for "passion projects" or just music that sounds like a hobby rather than a job. This album is exactly that, the blanket definition of bedroom pop. The overly-autotuned vocals, the simple and weird instrumentation, the random samples, the cheesy lyrics, ... read more
Best thing to ever happen to music.
I love Fred and that part where his voice is high. On a real note though, he tried a little and I respect that. No amount of effort could make a Fred musical project good though. Also, Christmas Is Creepy is actually catchy and I hate the fact that a Fred song can get stuck in my head. Just more proof that we are nearing the end of times.
Warm, and beautifully catchy math-rock.
This should be obvious by the language I'm typing this review in, but I do not speak Chinese lmao. So yeah, despite me not understanding a single lyric on this entire project, I loved it. The vibes on this EP are so warm, nice, and strangely nostalgic. The songs too are catchy and greatly composed. This band as a whole is great and this is some of the most unique math rock in my library.
Surprising lmao.
I listened to this thing as a meme and it's actually catchy as hell and there are some good pop songs here. I loved the TV show and was curious as to whether the guys actually put effort into the albums they released, or if it was all just for show. They put effort in and I will die on this hill. Some songs blend in, but some will unironically have you coming back. Super nostalgic too.
Simply amazing.
If you're looking for just exceptional and classic lofi with pretty vocals and creativity all over, this is the best record in my eyes. With so many songs on the project, you'd expect them to blend together, but they are all different here. While some don't quite work for me personally, I could see them working for others. This album is my favorite from Joji, and it's because it feels the most like "Joji." It sounds like a guy just making beats that sound good to him, ... read more
Pretty alright little EP.
Before I dive into any of this, I'd like to preference that I really enjoy both Senses and thirtyonetwentyfive's music. With that being said, I was a little underwhelmed with this EP. It's good, but just not entirely what I was expecting. I was very disappointed when I noticed that thirtyonetwentyfive doesn't have any vocals, but rather just produced the project. While Senses vocals are good and the production is solid, it just ends up feeling more like a Senses EP ... read more
As much of a meme, or part of "cringe-culture" as FNF is, this thing is catchy as fuck and full of good vibes. Also RIP
Possibly my favorite punk record of all time.
This album is amazing from top-to-bottom. The fun and energetic instrumentals, the nostalgic artwork, the youthful and expertly performed vocals, it's all just great. The songs here are catchy and always manage to give me an odd, but warm sense of nostalgia. The only thing I'm indifferent towards on this project is the lyrics, as the band labels the album as a whole "dad-punk," meaning a lot of themes of fatherhood and raising kids. It's ... read more
Funny
I'll keep this one short. This is a complete meme record. Definitely not really meant for you to sit down and listen to the whole thing, but rather to just pick out funny ones as you want. Some of the humor either doesn't hit or hasn't aged the best, but I find myself enjoying most of the album's comedy/satire. And while this album doesn't take itself seriously at any time, there are legitimately some pretty, well-composed sections present here. A song will go from meme rap to soft lofi ... read more
Beautiful ambiance
Not much to say on this album, as some may not even consider it to be "music." Despite that, I'm able to catch a lot of emotion from the ambiance. It's cold, empty, bleak, sad. The songs here are very similar to one another, but I can't really fault an atmosphere-based album for that. And although the songs here are drones, they are able to create such large soundscapes. An amazing album to go to sleep to, look at the sky to, be sad to, that sort of stuff.
Exceptional, impressive, and catchy math rock.
Personally, this is one of my favorite math rock albums of all time. The melodies are seriously exceptional, the vocals are crazy, there's so much emotion, the lyrics are amazing, and the composition is impressive. This album is able to keep your attention for nearly its entire duration. There's always a catchy melody to keep you engaged alongside everything else doing exactly what it should be. The guitar work is some of the best I've ever heard. ... read more
