Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect

I feel this album is the best in their discography, and a great fusion between everything that came before, as well as what would come from the band. Colors is the album everyone loves and it is a clear distinction between the Metalcore that came before and the prog influence that transformed the band into something greater. This album front to back is an incredible follow-up to Colors that I feel is often overshadowed without reason. The opener is nice and calm, highlighting some of the calmer ... read more

An incredibly solid follow-up from a dormant Progressive Metalcore act, that while never reaches the highs of their past work, makes a great argument for the continuation of the band. An album that sounds like a lot of really excellent indie music from the late 2000s in the best way possible. Incredibly consistent front to back with a few moments that make you want to stage dive or go to a local show.
