This is one of my favorite pop punk/pop rock albums of all time. Every song is catchy, there's plenty of variety, and i really like the singers voice. BANGER
Set It Off is honestly one of my favorite bands - with Cody being one of my favorite songwriters/Vocalists. As for as pop punk goes I think Cinematics is an absolute masterpiece. In my humble opinion there aren't any songs that I find dull or unoriginal. The variety packed into the album (especially the Expanded Edition/Deluxe) is second to none - alot of pop punk falls under the umbrella of "it all sounds the same" but each song on the album is distinct and well written.
I liked this for the most part - while i do miss Adam's voice that doesn't detract from some of the absolute BANGERS this album has like Fallen Angel, Landmine, and I Am Machine. That being said, some of the other songs were pretty generic if not just mediocre at best. The lack of consistency on this album with its songwriting is what keeps me from rating this higher. If you treat 3DG with a fresh view and not just "Adams band" then youll find some songs here you'll like. c:
I really like Story of the Year, or so I thought. I decided to listen to the entirety of Page Avenue and after the first few bangers i found myself kind of.. stop listening and get bored. This lasted until Razorblades came on...at the very end. There are some AMAZING songs on this album.. and then the rest really feel bland and uninspired and I hate to say that. :( If this was an EP of the best songs of the album it'd be like an 85 easily... but it's not :c.
After seeing other reviews of this I'm honestly scared to give my opinion but yolo - I think this song is a BANGER. I think the genre blending and the energy overall that he gives to this song is pretty great. The chorus? BANGIN. His rapping? Greatly improved. Corey Taylor? GODLIKE. The verses themselves are.. a little weak, but still catchy. Honestly I think if you liked old FIR or you like their previous 2 records, you should probably still like this song as it blends them together.
