Damn this album is genuinely incredible. I think this is easily my favorite OutKast album that I’ve heard in full up to this point. I enjoyed this better than their debut in almost every way possible. I thought the writing was more intricate and fleshed out, I thought the hooks were slicker and catchier, and I loved the production on here. I also enjoyed this album overall more than aquemini as well which I know might be a hot take but for me I think this album is more consistent and enjoyable overall from start to finish but I am going to give aquemini a relisten and update my thoughts on that. I do think some of the songs towards the second half of this album are just the tiniest bit less memorable or have hooks that I wasn’t as crazy about but honestly I thought this was a near perfect album and I loved this listen. I also am super excited to listen to Stantonia in its entirety as I haven’t done that yet but if it’s as good as this then I’m excited. OutKast is just creating one of the most consistently amazing discographies in hip hop that I’ve ever heard.
