Converge's Jane Doe is the closest to a perfect metalcore album that I've ever listened to, but I'll only give it an 100 on a good relisten.
Concubine is such an amazing album introduction. It's raw and unhinged, which I didn't hear enough of in Love Is Not Enough, despite being an amazing 2026 Release.
I think that this album really does well in the Hardcore Punk side of it, Distance and Meaning having a different side to it than what I've heard from the band, ... read more
I remember I put this song on a bad song playlist and it was the first song. Plotagon is an interesting music video medium tbh
This album works very well for me.
I'm seeing Electric Callboy tonight, a band that I've been a fan of since I heard We Got The Moves sometime in summer 2023.
This album is just pure heavy fun front to back, and the idea of bringing rave music to the heaviness of Metalcore just caters to me so well.
The raunchy undertones definitely make it for the singles like Tekkno Train, Pump It, and We Got The Moves, Electric Callboy being a very raunch-centric band. Just look at their music ... read more
I'm seeing these guys tomorrow! I love their stuff but this is kinda weird. The chorus is really mid but it's still heavy in the verses and has a good breakdown.
The strokes what the fuck are we doing that chorus gave me hantavirus
Felt overall higher energy than the Burn Blush EP, and the songs individually just hit so hard! My personal favorite is Human, but I enjoyed every track here because they all had a reason to like them.
The darker feeling of Laugh Off, the closer, really differentiates itself from the more upbeat 3 preceding tracks.
Overall a pretty great project, and I hope to see these guys live again what the hell they're genuinely a sleeper band that more people need to know.
Listened to this on record with Unsafe and realized I had my belt on the wrong level so it was slow and the singer's voice was so deep 🤦♂️
Saw these guys open for the OBGMS and they were sick! Great show and they have a good sound, but I wasn't really drawn to this one compared to how they sounded live. Burn Blush and Half were the staples but the rest didn't really make a mark for me imo, I definitely prefer Unsafe lots.
Took me a couple days to review this but this is sick! Some of the best vocals I've heard in metal, they're so powerful.
I'm versing myself better in what is slowly becoming my favorite metal genre, and what better way to do that than to go down the rabbit hole of albums released this year? That's what I did with UNADULTERATED by Roman Candle.
The main appeal is the absolute strength in the vocals, but the instrumentals reaffirm everything that I've enjoyed in ... read more
A more electronic focused album to the pop-punk/metal successor, Power Move. It's no surprise that I'm in love with Cheem and their sound, but this wasn't as good as Power Move imo
I really enjoyed Snag, Mango and Pay2play, but the rest of the album just doesn't hit as hard for me. It's also really short which doesn't help.
There's definitely a lot of experimentation, like the autotune in overload, which isn't my favorite thing but who am I to ... read more
Continuing my Title Fight dive, I listened to The Last Thing You Forget. While this album goes into heavier notes and also poppier notes than what I heard in Shed, I don't think it tops that album.
This is not meant to talk down on The Last Thing You Forget at all, though, because that is a tough title to fight (I'm so funny guys)
Symmetry is probably my favorite Title Fight song, and what an album intro it is. Some other ones I like a lot are Room 200, Loud and Clear and Western ... read more
Literally just polarizing. Absolutely awesome instrumentals, especially in the bridge, and grating autotune vocals. My respect for the strokes just puts it above a clean half rating from me but I don't think I'll listen to this again.
I'm starting to understand that Jaret Reddick just sings like that. The fact that I love the original song and band to death really helps, and this cover isn't as bad as I'm Just a Kid but that doesn't mean much.
These guys just release straight heat with each passing song, I'm so hyped for the album.
God, with every listen I hate the title track more.
I loved But Here We Are, because it was beautifully written, with heartfelt lyrics and surprisingly great instrumentals, The Teacher, Rest, the title track and Hearing Voices being some of my favorite songs of Foo Fighters.
The singles for this album were very coin-toss like. Your Favorite Toy was a pretty crappy song, Caught In The Echo was great, and Of All People was decent (I didn't listen to Asking For A Friend before this), so I ... read more
