I've seen the sentiment a few times starting with the release of SIDEWINDER that wishlane had maybe taken the wrong lessons from the success of SUCKER PUNCH. I like writing reviews for things. Being able to try to articulate what it is I do and don't like about a piece of media is a really fun exercise. With that said, albums like this are kind of hard to write about. The music inside this record is great, don't get me wrong. Good Kid is a frustrating band to be a fan of sometimes. With each project they put out some incredible tracks, but then with those you get just some other tracks that are a bit in-one-ear-out-the-other. I will at least say that this is a better effort than EPs 3 and 4 were, but it still feels like there's work to do here.
