It definitely isn't bad at all. I know a lot of fans were thrilled to see Andy screaming again but I never thought they sounded their best when he was doing that, definitely don't think it's a strength of his. Some fun tracks, but very little I'll ever return to.
This one just isn't really doing it for me. I think the 80's thing is a little played out at this point, hopefully they don't triple down on it.
(any fans getting mad reading this it's okay I love this band, I have a creeper tattoo)
Not to take away from how important drummers are, but starting off with a song that says "I'm a one hit wonder, fuck you I don't care" when there's only one original member left from your only well known song is very funny. What's even funnier is then immediately following it up with an incredibly low effort Electric Callboy rip off.
Proof that even Octanecore can be done well in 2025. This is what I Prevail's album should have been.
A pretty significant step back compared to their last two albums, but I'm a massive fan of their sound so it's still great in my opinion. First time in a long time that they've released something with songs I'd probably skip on a re-listen, but the highs are high enough that it doesn't hurt the score all that much.
While I wasn't a fan of the last two albums as a whole, Brian's voice is what made the band stand out against the rest of the generic metalcore coming out the past decade. Following his departure it seems that rather than trying to find a new sound, I Prevail has decided to lean into sounding like a mishmash of everyone else in the genre.
It's nothing I haven't heard before, but if the rest of the album was anything like the title track, it would at least have a personality ... read more
Not groundbreaking or anything, but super catchy. Natural is one of my favourite pop punk songs of the year so far.
I'm in the minority, but I actually like this ever so slightly more than Ants From Up There. This band is incredible.
Inoffensive, unremarkable, and somehow considerably better than anything Escape the Fate has put out.
I'm pleasantly surprised by this. Overall it's a lot more consistent than You're Welcome and even has a few tracks I'll be going back to. To The Death rips.
I didn't expect the best song on the album to have such a 80s feel to it, but "Someone Who Can" is such a stand out and is going to be on repeat for a very long time. Not what I was expecting at all, and the album exceeded my expectations. Fantastic.
Spiritbox have set the standard for metalcore this decade and continue to surpass that bar every time they have something to release. Two albums and a few EPs in, they're already in legendary status as far as I'm concerned. One of the greats.
Listening to this at work pretending I'm searching the mountainous lands before me instead of spreadsheets.
Silverstein continues to be consistently very good. Not pushing the boundaries by any means or changing their sound all that much. I enjoyed this a lot, but it's the same old Silverstein, and only 23 minutes long. If it ain't broke and all that, but it would be interesting to see them try something new.
A genuinely great album that I consider a classic. It definitely sounds like its era, but the songwriting is considerably better than the majority of the mid 2000s pop punk/emo scene. Move Along is one of the best songs of the decade.
