honestly, kinda boring! there weren't any tracks that stuck out. very forgettable.

Danny Brown - Stardust

some of danny brown's best rapping TO DATE. the best way to describe this album is a more modern version of Old. danny has always had a good ear for production, and old was a prime example of that. the main example everyone talks about is charli xcx, i mean, for good reason! she finally got the recognition it deserves.

danny curated some of the heavy hitters in the hyper-pop/breakcore scene to make this album. i ADORE the production on this album. 1999 has really glitchy, production. the ... read more

Rav - Vol. 5.5

" I want us to leave our jobs, I want us to leave this town
In this sea of sadness, we swim or we gon' drown"

continuing my exo deep dive, we have rav's 5.5 ep. he dropped this when he was putting the b-sides up for download on his personal bandcamp, and included this. not quite vol 6! but not quite a volume at all. i adore this project and consider it to be some of rav's best writing ever. with it clocking in at about 31 minutes, it has a lot to offer. i love this EP ... read more

Modest Mouse - Building Nothing Out of Something
90

man. this album is perfect for the cold winters. i can't put into words how grey ice water made me feel, riding on a bus seeing the snow get heavy, and the bus getting colder. despite it being a compilation, it is very coherent. all night diner is the only song i'd say doesn't fit. with themes of regret, envy, depression, death, this makes for a very emotional piece. easily one of my favorite albums to just sit and think to.
