Lots of introspective and emotionally driven cuts, boasted by quality lyrics and gorgeous instrumentations. Kendrick leads the audience into a world of his own, there, he’s not just about addressing social problems and cultural issues, he is instead talking about his vulnerability and the human side of himself, and that’s what makes this album so brilliant.
It has got its fair share of duds though, so this is “just” a 85

With the album INSANO and its deluxe, follow up with the single Neverland, I almost lost faith in this man's music composing ability, but this man. This man takes me to another one of his incredible emotional journey, previously to the moon, self destruct, but this time, he is finally free. I can't stress how happy i am for him, to remain his old ability to make music, while pursuing more freedom in itself.

I don't do this often but I agree with Fantano on this one, this commercial bop is one of the most successful album in terms of streams and commercial success, but the consistency is just not there. Kenny defintely still had a lot of great material on this one, it just that this feels like an attempt of quickly riding the wave of hip-hop's boom in that era, and fseeking mainstream coverage which he rightfully deserves.
