With a title like “Muse,” I was hoping for some really inspired and interesting lyricism and motiffs. However, this EP delivers on the idea of a muse as some nebulous, blandly enchanting entity. The lyrics are so purposefully bland and generic. Rebirth, SGMB, Who, and Closer Than This all give big Army fan appreciation song energy.

I get the vibe he was going for, but this was underwhelming. I was quite excited when I read the announcement that this would incorporate band instrumentation and hip hop. This song and “closer than this” portend more disappointment for Muse. Loco has also under-delivered here; very phoned in verse.
Such a solid album. I was a little worried with the 2 lead singles, but the album is solid as a whole. Nuts, Heaven, and Domodachi are some of my favorite songs this year!
This sounds like he wanted to do another World Cup type song except the only applicable global sporting event this year was the Gangwon 2024 Youth Winter Olympics. It’s giving Childrens’ Day.

"After reading the lyrics, I’m not surprised that he actually contributed to the writing of this song.
Fans love to bring up JK’s Japanese writing credits, but I really don’t think he contributed as much to the songs beyond just outlining the overall themes, especially since he isn’t particularly known for having a high proficiency level among the members (like Hobi, RM, Jimin, and V). He has said in interviews that he doesn’t really enjoy writing (‘never Let Go’ proves this) and prefers just going into the booth to record his lines."
