As I figured, this feels a lot more laid back and simple compared to Haunt You and Vanisher, very akin to some of scrapyard. As of right now it’s a high 8, but it will probably grow on me with the album’s release.
Yeah... Wasn't a fan of this one. It sounds bad, inoffensively so, but still. Hopefully the rest of the album is better.
Holy, what an EP. Found these guys by chance off a TikTok, and man this is the heaviest shit I’ve heard since the knocked loose album. Very excited to see this band grow.
Muse releasing an actually good single was not on my 2026 bingo card. The riff is cool, the vocals are good, and the linearity of the song feels actually thought out, where as a lot of their other recent work felt "prog" in a really random shit type way. I am now cautiously optimistic for their upcoming album.
This is one of only 5 albums I have heard to have me in tears nearly the entire way through. Crying to the lyrics, the instrumental sections, or just the general vibe of a song, this album struck a nerve with me emotionally. I have struggled in the past with the exact thing this album is about: Struggling to forget a past love when you feel you were at fault for it ending. This was a beautiful album.
OH MY GOD WHAT A LIAR. So many songs on this album so obviously use ai vocals. I know, shocker that Kanye is lying about something but still. I took 10 points off my score for the ai, had he used his own real vocals the score would be a 39.
Ranting about ai aside, there is a lot to say about this project. For starters, not a single song feels finished. Everything is some combination poorly mixed, too short, overly lyrically repetitive, or as previously stated ai. Nothing on this record for ... read more
This album honestly feels more like post-rock than some of the genre's pioneering bands, having a lot of moments that feel like they could come right off of a Swans or a Slint album, along with also being very much a No Wave album just like Swans was at the time. While none of what this album contains truly floors me at all, there is a lot to be enjoyed here. Lesson No 2 is just straight up a No Wave song, and the longer tracks are very very good.
First time listening to an Underscores release after hearing her for the first time on Danny Browns Stardust, and God Damn this bangs. Her vocals are amazing, the production is unique, and some of the tracks almost feel like prog-pop. I actually want to especially highlight the production, like when the drums kick in on Lovefield, or just the beat in general on Do It being genuinely flooring.
This album is so inconsistent in its direction, but surprisingly consistent in its result: incredibly boring. A few songs have great production that is dragged down by grating or boring vocals, while other songs have catchy hooks that can't carry shaky production. It feels like every direction this album takes makes some ugly compromise to try to fit every idea onto one album. It does have one shining light: this album doesn't feel so much like unoriginal corposlop like their previous ... read more
This is overall a very good EP and sparks interest as my intro to AIC. I've never been very into grunge, Infamous among my friends for thinking Nirvana is a boring band, not being too into Soundgarden, and only really liking Pearl Jam's debut album. Comes as a pleasant surprise that the only song on this EP I wasn't very into was the last song.
The mixing on this I quite like, very pristine while still holding onto the grit grunge is known for, paired with awesome songwriting ... read more
I get why it's called feed me amnesia because it really makes you want to forget you ever listened to it
This album is very much a mixed bag to me. On one hand, the production all the way through I feel is the most creative Joji has ever been, with tracks like Pixelated Kisses and DYKILY having this almost industrial sound to them, while also having just classic sad boy Joji tracks like Love You Less. All that is great, and if this album sound all the way through like the highlights it would be an easy 8/10 for me, but unfortunately it doesn't. This album is severely bogged down by horribly ... read more
As a neurodivergent trans person I am required to like Femtanyl, so naturally I really liked this project. The production is really good, a little bit of a cleaner sound compared to previous projects in my opinion, along with feeling a little more “fun” than the rage of something like CHASER. Definitely a fun listen, and body the pistol and head up are going in my playlist for sure.
To sum up this album, it's beautiful glimpses of what is to come in a sea of boring generic youtube rap. Songs like Thank You Next and War! are genuinely grating to the ears, versus tracks like A Dream I Can't Remember, Eyes, and The Man On My Left Shoulder are pretty well written rap songs with great hooks and good production, albeit with maybe a few cringe lyrics (i.e. "I just pulled up to the function, can't even function). The rest of the album is pretty boring, though I ... read more
Not the greatest thing in the world, but I still enjoyed it, I quite like Henson's playing style.
This was my anthem back in 2021, will always have a special place in my playlists
I quite like the sound of this track, somehow in a good way it reminds me sonically of some of the gospel artists I used to listen to when I was younger and still religious.
A true pioneering album that in my opinion, while containing amazing highlights, is incredibly inconsistent. Songs like Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and A Day In The Life are amazing but something like When I'm Sixty-Four I found to be incredibly boring and to have aged very poorly. And the concept? Barely even an Idea in my opinion, as the only two tracks with any semblance of a "concept" are the two title tracks.
This is an album that is inconsistent in direction, sound, and as a result quality. The highs such as Gematria or Psychosocial are bangers and some of the best songs slipknot has put out, but the lows such as Butchers hook are extremely boring and downright cringey at times, only somewhat saved by the competent playing by the band members. And then there are some tracks that straight up sound like stone sour tracks, which, while stone sour is good, that’s not what I’m here for ... read more
This is an incredibly musically and lyrically dense albums, and one of the most sonically variable genre blends I've ever heard. Every song feels like it's from a completely new album, yet every track works so perfectly together.
The concept is so interesting as well. In my interpretation I see the general storyline being Quad (his character) having personal struggles in life, and choosing to leave 'this world', to vanish to the ocean and sail alone to escape his ... read more
