SAME DIFFERENCE by Swae Lee is one of those albums that sneaks up on you. Going in, expectations might not be sky-high, but what you get is a genuinely great, cohesive project that feels effortless and refreshing. Right from the jump, “TOMATO/TOMÁTO” sets the tone perfectly. It’s a high-energy, infectious intro that immediately pulls you into the album’s vibe. From there, Swae Lee keeps things consistent with standout tracks like “THE GOSPEL,” “SIDE EYE,” and “E OF EMOTION,” all of which linger long after they end thanks to their catchy hooks and smooth production. “Flammable” is another major highlight, bringing a burst of adrenaline that feels tailor-made for big moments, like the kind of track you’d blast before a game or a big event. On the other hand, songs like “RAISING AWARENESS” and “VIOLET” lean into a breezy, summery aesthetic, showcasing Swae Lee’s signature melodic style and giving the album a warm, replayable feel. But the undeniable peak of the album is “WORKING REMOTE” featuring Slim Jxmmi. It’s nothing short of perfect, a 10/10 track. The production is stunning, layered in a way that feels both polished and immersive, while Swae Lee delivers some of his most beautiful vocals. Slim Jxmmi complements him flawlessly, making their chemistry the centerpiece of the entire album. That said, not every feature lands. Outside of Slim Jxmmi, most guest appearances feel underwhelming or unnecessary, which slightly holds the album back from reaching its full potential. Still, this doesn’t take away too much from the overall experience. At its core, SAME DIFFERENCE is a beautiful summer trap album, light, melodic, and incredibly easy to keep on repeat. It’s the kind of project that lives in your rotation for months, maybe even all year. And honestly, it feels like the type of album that might go underappreciated, with not enough people giving it the credit it deserves. A quiet standout, and one of Swae Lee’s most enjoyable releases to date. But I just don't understand the negative reviews to the album... It just makes me sad
