‘She was too good for me’ is great way to tap into the various facets of Chet Baker’s discography. It features both his instrumental playing and singing across the entire album and is great introduction into the world of Chet Baker. Of the Icehouse 'canon' this is certainly the peak of their writing when one considers the album as a whole. While there are definitely some stand out tracks (for me these are Crazy, My Obsession, Nothing Too Serious and Heartbreak Kid) every song has its place and the overall experience of listening to this cover to cover is very satisfying.
