"Two faced"/"Good Things To Go"/"Heavy Is The Crown" are MUST listens. "Two Faced" steals the show on this album. The production is Hybrid theory esque but the album has GUTTED all industrial that brought more strength for the earlier work and brought more of a hard rock sound. No performance is amazing on Emily's part...She's good but not great. Shinoda was dope and Hahn killed it. Its a SLIGHTLY less abrasive Linkin Park with a vocal solid ... read more
This album has always stood out of the first 3 releases. Listening to it as many times as i have it still carries the self loathing themes but with a higher energy in a pumped up sense. I do appreciate that, but then theres these songs like "Bully" that im just scratching my head at cuz why the FUCK is that on the album. It reminds me of "Overrated" from their self titled album in the way that it's laughably out of place. The first 3 tracks from "Bitter ... read more
"Burn" "Just like you" "I Hate Everything About You" "Home" "Scared" "Drown" "Wake up" An entire album that is Undeniable and near unskipable and unescapable. A post grunge masterpiece that is drenched in heartbreak expressed through more ways then i could count. Every single melody and chorus is stuck in my head. The riffs and singing performances are just landmarks for the genre as a whole. Any rating under the high 8s ... read more
This entire album is littered with some of the DARKEST writing i've heard from Chester...its genuinely stomach turning when you pay attention. So what was decided on was to grab those amazing vocal performances and gut wrenching writing and slap on some of the MOST generic, cookie cutter, unpleasant, cash grabbing, check cutting, bag securing, radio friendly pop instrumentals. Way to go guys you really did it...If you wanted to show that Chesters vocals can be destroyed via bad ... read more
The BEST parts of this album was when Chesters mouth was open. The WORST parts of this album was literally everything. Shoutout to shit verses from M.Shinoda, meh instrumentals and the funniest unnecessary verse from Rakim...."Guilty All The Same" would have been in the 9's for me if there wasn't a fucking Rakim verse. It's so laughably out of place. The whole album in a summary is "Lets ruin our meal tickets legacy". Everything is peaking in the 7s and ... read more
INCREDIBLE....plain and simple. It gets hate for presenting a different sound??? like the last 3 albums didn't do that already. The first 3 tracks to start album always blows me away from "Lost in the echo"/"In my remains"/"Burn it down"...they are so powerful and Chester yet again shuts shit down. Skin to bone stands out heavy and conducts so much power and majority of the album does. It relies on alot of electronic sounds that i genuinely enjoy.
This was just good...nothing special except for "Wretches and Kings" and "Burning in the skies". Most of this album is filled with interludes and drum ups rather then bangers like the last few....this was good...but nothing id ever go back. Wasn't huge on it when it dropped, wasn't huge when i was a teen and not huge on it as an adult.
Refreshing sound with lots of intensity. This album has so many iconic Chester performances as per usual and sadly M.Shinodas WORST performance on "In between". That song alone hurts the album alot. Otherwise this is an amazing listen from start to finish with only one real skip
Again 10s dont exist...flawless album....id change nothing...this album changed me
Near flawless. Cure for the itch is the only thing that stops it from going higher but 10s dont exist for me either way.
