James And The Shame - Nothing Left to Love

I absolutely loved Human Overboard last year, and getting more music from Rhett is always something to look forward to. While there are some references to religion, I appreciate that this EP is more of its own thing. Singing about love, friendship, and getting older, plus the mourning of a relationship that never got to blossom. Rhett sounds great on here, the features from Link and Jesse are a very welcome addition, and the instrumentals are just as good as before. I loved this project, and I ... read more
Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good!

Well god damn! That! Does feel good on my eardrums! I don’t think I had ever heard of Jessie Ware before, but after being introduced to Begin Again months ago, I fell in love with the song right away (it’s honestly one of my favorites of the year), but it took me until now to finally check the whole project out. It’s bop after bop on here, and I’m not usually a disco or dance-pop guy, but this thing got me moving and jamming through the whole record. Amazing production ... read more
Laufey - Bewitched

Holy shit I love this. Laufey’s vocal performances are absolutely killer throughout this entire project, the production and instrumentals are so lush and beautiful. There’s a running theme of love songs during the whole record, but honestly, in this style and with that voice, I could listen to another 12 tracks without getting tired of it at all. Such a lovely project that I’ll definitely be revisiting as winter sets in soon.
Caroline Polachek - Desire, I Want To Turn Into You

This album is very interesting. I wasn’t very captured by the first track, but as the album went on, Caroline’s vocals and all of the interesting art pop production started to draw me further and further in. Blood and Butter specifically was one that really caught me and thoroughly enthralled me throughout the entirety, even when the bagpipes came in they didn’t pull me out of it at all. I need a few more listens to really get a good grasp on what I truly think of this album, ... read more
Sufjan Stevens - Javelin

This is my second Sufjan album, and I am still very impressed with his style, production, and vocal performance as I had been in Carrie & Lowell. The lyrics are so damn sad, and the story he tells throughout this album in reference and in tribute to his partner who had passed is absolutely heartbreaking. Great vibes for a dreary day, and another reason that I need to check out more of Sufjan's discography.
