My first 100 (for reviewing at least) I used to not be very fond of BCNR, and didn’t really ever connect well with their previous projects, not that they were bad, just not really my style. I’m happy to say I have had an amazing turnaround on this band. Forever Howlong is easily my album of the year so far and has swept me off my feet while listening to. The band has made some insanely happy music that gives me summer vibes and makes me feel super happy and bubbly. Overall an ... read more
I've heard very mixed but more skewed to negative opinions on this album. Listening it to the first time I loved it, and I continue to love it. While the lyrics aren't the most in depth and creative ever, they add to the fun of this album. Teezo clearly really enjoyed making this album and it shows in the production, flow and style of presentation. Overall a very very fun listen and I keep continuing to come back and hear most of these tracks!
This album is such a mix of Good, Mediocre and just straight up horrible. There are very solid ideas on this album, some of which are executed nicely (Carnival, Burn, Fuk Sumn, Stars, & Paid). Others are just overall a mess in production, lyricism, and execution. The whole idea that Kanye is doubling down on his comments and trying to justify it in the weirdest and most strange ways ever is very disappointing to see considering the hype around this album. Overall it feels uninspired and ... read more
I've never head a SchoolboyQ song at all (maybe like in a friend's car but not that I remember) so I went into this album blind to who this guy was and what his style was. Needless to say, this album was a very very good listen. SchoolboyQ manages to set a very nice and fluent sounding jazz-rap style in all of the songs and they almost all sound amazing. Not to mention the features all do an amazing job and really add a level of creativity to this album. Production overall was amazing and this ... read more
I think it looks crazy that I'm making my first review such a high number, but this "mixtape" is absolutely incredible start to finish. Quadeca expertly managed to put a collection of scrapped (and just newer) songs together into a mixtape and while they all tell their own unique stories and express their own themes and ideas, they still come together beautifully as a full project. Some critiques I've seen are that the production can feel bloated and unnecessary at times, and while I ... read more
