What a consistent album with a solid track order. Self Care is great, and everybody knows it, but my favorite here is 2009. So It Goes is really good as well and a good outro.

When this came out I was hardly interested in listening to much outside of my comfort in indie pop & EDM, but was put on to a couple songs in "Die Hard" and "N95" and they were pretty regular listens for me on release. I guess listening to an album this long in a genre that wasn't my preferred seemed a bit daunting, and I never got around to it. 2 years, some personal growth & taste shifts, and a once in a lifetime rap beef later, and I've finally gotten around to ... read more
Satisfyingly melancholic and real. Not normally a genre I would dabble in, but listened to this front to back fully enthralled. The standouts for me are: Sadness As a Gift, Evol, Already Lost, Ruined
Quilko has some great songs on this album that I've had on repeat, such as Dustcutter, What's it to Him, and Way Too Many Friends, but it also has quite a few that I'm quite lukewarm on. Nothing bad on here but a lot of it just doesn't tickle me enough. Dustcutter is absolutely fire
Similarly to Smithereens, this album was about 50-50 to me on release. Half of these songs had me full-on obsessing for months and half of them weren't played more than once or twice. Over time, Run, Sanctuary, and Pretty Boy have grown on me, and it's more like 70% repeat listens and still 30% I'm not going to come back to. For me, the highlights of this album are Ew and Gimme Love; particularly the outros of both. Additionally, Gimme Love's music video is one of the best I have ever seen. I ... read more
Just got an account on here and this was one of the first albums I thought to come review, so surely that says something. Joe Keery sings with such passion! The dynamics on this album are done so well, whether it's the climax into the cut out of End of Beginning before the final chorus, or the slow buildup of On and On into the drums going absolutely NUTTY, right before cutting back out. I really like the layering as well, particularly in the back half on Figure You Out when he's repeating the ... read more
All the past Billie songs that I have really liked were all slower and more melancholic, but this album changes that. This is her best work imo and I think Chihiro is probably her best song to date. The production is fantastic as well so shoutout to Finneas. My only complaint is that it feels a bit frontloaded. Nonetheless, not a single bad song on here, and nice to see something this good in the mainstream. Favorites on the album are: 1. Chihiro, 2. Birds of a Feather, 3. Skinny, 4. Blue, 5. ... read more
While "What Once Was" is still my favorite song of Her's, I prefer this release to the prior. Every song on this album is great to me, and I feel that they really honed in on their sound here. This album is extremely effective at hitting the right emotions and that feels inexplicably satisfying to me. I really like how and when Stephen uses falsetto throughout (particularly on Blue Lips). The guitar riffs in She Needs Him and Under Wraps are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for the ... read more
The vibes on this entire album are infectious, and Stephen Fitzpatrick's voice is so soothing and unique. The only songs I don't relisten to on this album are Medieval and Speed Racer, while What Once Was is one of my favorite songs of all time. There's nothing I would change about it. Thank you for some amazing music, Rest In Peace
Eliminate is one of my favorite artists in the genre because I can listen to his whole discography without getting bored. His music is consistent in quality while the tracks are different enough from each other to stay interesting.
BREAKSH!T has one of the most memorable buildups I've ever heard, and the whole EP has a lot of unique synths/basses that leave me coming back to this EP a lot more often than others in the genre. If you like this and are interested in the creative process, ... read more
Found this EP through Bad Texter, which I initially enjoyed but started to sour on because I don't care for the lyrics. I enjoy the melodies of every song on here, and the singing is great! There's nothing wrong with the lyrics but nothing that really sticks out to me personally. Lots of great ideas on here and King of the Basement is super catchy. Walls is a banger, but tragically isn't on this EP. Overall a good casual listen and hope to see more from them
I've liked Glimpse of Us and Die For You since this has came out, but didn't care for the rest of it. Since then Night Rider and 1AM Freestyle have grown on me quite a bit. Overall I think it's a mixed bag but the highs more than make up for the lows
