2000 EXCURSION

You guys are tripping, this shit goes hard as fuck.

"2000 Excursion" is the first single from the JACKBOYS collective's second album, JACKBOYS 2, and after being shown the cold shoulder by Travis Scott for so long as to *any* details on the release of that album, this song comes as welcome respite from the torturous waiting.

As for the song, well, Toliver's voice, slides smoothly as ever on the beat, and Travis is back with his usual raspy sound that doesn't fail to provide an entertaining amount of contrast. While I hope that JACKBOYS 2 has a bit of a different overall sound than this, I can't say I don't like this. Give it some time, folks. Let it marinate. You won't be disappointed.

Yeah, sure, the sheer amount of beat switches does get tiring on a song that is not quite the level of a prospective Sicko Mode 2, but I still feel like the song manages to achieve what it set out to do — to be a banger that goes insanely hard and entertains the listener, while remaining sonically varied and interesting. And while I totally understand if you personally don't vibe with this song, you can't deny that the guys at Cactus Jack did NOT hold back with this one.

So in short, I loved the vibe, the production, the beats, the vocals, and the energy.

8/10 song, and I'll be waiting for JB2. I can't wait for what it's gonna sound like!
