The perfect evolution of emo trap in my honest opinion. All of the guitars on this album blow me away and the bass on tracks like "Everything Before Was A Myth" are just incredible. This project manages to keep the rough aesthetics of emo trap while still maintaining professional mastering. While I have not been a fan of most full Lil Tracy projects, this is a standout in his catalogue and I recommend it to anybody wanting to check him out.
I love all of the experimentation on this project, it is a very engaging experience and so unique. My main complaint is that I wish there was more of it and that the mixing/mastering was a little cleaner. In a way the rough textures help certain tracks, but it makes it hard to listen to with headphones on for me. I think this is a great step in the right direction for Glaive.
Overall, I was not very impressed by Joji's performance on most of these songs. Pixelated Kisses was an incredibly nice switch of pace as a single and it made me expect a LOT more from this project. Other than Rose Colored and Pixelated Kisses, I have a hard time remembering most of this album. Despite that, nothing on this album is necessarily offensive, it is just made for background listening in my honest opinion.
Almost every single song is a hitter, but I feel as if this album relies much too heavily on repetition in some songs. A lot of tracks, while sounding good feel very gimmicky in ways. By far, Don Toliver carries this album over almost every feature other than the Yeat appearance.
