Excellent music on an abysmal master. The songs credited just to Mick Gorden sound great but the ones with him and Chad Mossholder (thrown together with in-game music files very poorly) that make up most of this release are extremely rough. Definitely a disappointment considering the material itself is improved from DOOM 2016.

Anamanaguchi - Power Supply

I first came across this band not from Scott Pilgrim like many, but a random Sonic fan game that had Helix Nebula in it (on a Sega Genesis rom... somehow) and from then on I was sold. I find chiptune is something of an overdone style especially considering how many retro and indie games I play, but Anamanaguchi has a very distinct sound for their chiptune rock that works wonders. My only real gripe with this EP is the lack of variety.

Fugees - Blunted On Reality

It's alright, nothing outstanding but even in this Onyx derivative album you can hear some hints as to how excellent all three members really were even back then. The more relaxed songs on this are definitely the standouts, such as Vocab, Some Seek Stardom, and the remixed version of Nappy Heads. Lauren steals the show as usual but Pras and Wyclef are both very impressive vocalists all the same. Give it a listen if you like the Fugees or any of their solo work but otherwise you're fine skipping ... read more
