Most Songs on here are very unremarkable Metalcore, but some do stand out in a good or bad way. Anyhow, nothing much to remember for me sadly
Avralize looked at their last record, saw "CANVAS" and said, lets do that for a whole record. Thats what this is. Incredibly fun, bouncy jazzy metalcore with fun riffs, breakdowns and heaps of style. It caught me completely by suprise, and hasnt lost its grip on me ever since. Can highly recommend!
Good, fun and quick. Nothing id probably go back to much, but fun headbangers for a fun time. Also that cover art kinda disturbed me when i looked at it closer...
What happened here?
TDWP released Color Decay in 2022 and made it into my Top3 Albums that year. But this feels like taking the arena rock sounding parts of CD and only expansing on them.
Sure there are some really good songs here, but theyre buried between alot of... nothing. Everything is listenable, and nothing id say is particulariy bad. But it also barely makes an impact.
My big exeptions here would be "All Out", "Ritual" & "When Youre Gone". These 3 are ... read more
Prog Metalcore with a melodic twist. All i really need to say is: Holy Riffs! God Damn
One of the many bands sprouting out from Sleep Tokens remains. You can defintively hear the ST influence in this, but it is alot more atmospheric and dramatic. Therefore its its own thing. Probably compareable to the newer "Stoneside." singles. Must listen if you enjoy either ST or atmospheric stuffs
Set It Off dabble their feet into NuMetal influences and smash them unto their normal rock sound, to create something sounding like if modern Asking Alexandria and Falling In Reverse had a baby. I do have a softspot for this kind of music tho, but there are alot of problems very visible.
The singing is okay, the hooks are mostly fine. The breakdowns feel forced for the most part and only one song ever deviates from the formula of the whole record. But the lyrics and the rapping is far from ... read more
Alexisonfire put up 4 fun songs here. Very big sounding and very gritty guitars. Riffs are good, hooks are fun and vibes are immaculate. Is it something i want to listen to all the time? not really. Is it fun for what it is? 100%
Caskets present themselves in their next Album, two years after Reflections. Sadly it doesnt do much so set itself apart from the previous one. It has a similar vibe and uses many similar melodies and ideas. But some songs on here, are strong enough to stand out. Sadly its mainly the singles, cause they are catchy enough to stay with me. Rest of it, sadly didnt have enoguh hook in it. So my verdict is, that its a solid album, that doesnt do much to stand out from the bunch. So ill rank it with ... read more
Ive heard alot of fuzz about this band, so decided to give it a go. Its very mellow and chill for the most part with some heavier moments in between. I can get why people would use this album as an entry point to the genre!
Rituals release their 3rd EP in 3 years with a bang. Good Riffs, fun breakdowns and good vocals. But the hooks and melodies could use a little work. Still, highly recommended for metalcore listeners!
Avatar are back with an outing on Halloween and it somewhow doesnt really connect. I enjoyed alot of avatar in the past, even their last album was solid. But this one kinda loses itself in its goofyness. The Ideas are very fun and mostly work, but either they drag on for way to long, get repetetive or get straight up annoying at times. There are a few very notreable Songs on here tho and im sure some people will get more out of it than i have.
Lovely cosmic atmosphere and storytelling. Sadly the riffs are rather repetetive and the stick of this album does lose its need over time. Still wonderful music to dissociate to!
The Second Part of their 2025 Catalogue and its... alot better than part one, but far from being amazing imo. The riffs feel more focussed, the lyrics a little less cringy and the production feels different. I enjoyed this alot more than part 1!
Its my first experience with them (apart from "Heavy Lies The Crown"). And, to say it lightly, its really not my thing. Vocals sound really out of place, riffs are alright and lyrics are atrocious. Even as a Nu-Metal lover i cant recommend this! Sorry!
Solence continue their ride of Hard Rock with Electronica. In this case they opted more into the Djent sound of the guitars, which made it sound very full. Overall its very fun, but the lyrics can get incredibly cringy. But if you can get over that, there is alot to like here. The dubstep-esk drops work very well and feel like, they belong here.
This was my introduction to Author & Punisher. I expected not much to begin with, but found a solid industrial Album with metal elements intertwined through it. Its engaging enough that i dont shut it off, but also sadly not my cup of tea! Still recommendable for industrial listeners tho
Grayhaven channel their Every Time I Die energy, combine it with the sounds of their 2022 Album and create this. A shining star in the Metal Scene. Every song has something inside of it, that makes it memorable. The melodies shine, the riffs hit hard when they need to. They even hit the progressive sidetones in some tracks. The only thing id have wished, were one or two more songs that lean harder on the mathcore sound. But apart from this, one if not the best album of 2025
Just a living masterpiece. Nothing to add. GOTY is on the horizon and rarely was as deserved as it was here!
