Creative as usual.

Maruja - Pain to Power

Hard hitting and full of emotion. The first proper rock project I've ever listened to. I enjoy long songs, which this album delivered on. I'm not a rock listener, but I really appreciated the jazz elements sprinkled into this already extremely versatile project. Before hearing this, I'd only heard Maruja on their collaboration with Quadeca: 'Casper' which is a 10/10 for me, so I obviously came here expecting something very creative which they delivered without a doubt, ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2

An album I can enjoy listening to in full any day of the week. Freddie's tone of voice is the only static part of the vibrant 'Alfredo 2'. The Alchemist's production is refreshing in my eyes and this record was one of a few that stood out to me among the abundant amount of anticipated and star studded projects of July 2025. The rollout was short but engaging, and the aesthetic is top tier, with the cover matching the sound perfectly and the merch being impressively well done ... read more

McKinley Dixon - Magic, Alive!

After 4 listens this album finally clicked for me. The first couple times I could understand why people enjoyed it but personally I didn't a whole lot even though I love jazz rap. But by the 4th listen I realised how well put together 'Magic, Alive!' is. It packs 11 songs into 35 minutes, ranging from edgy production on songs like 'Crooked Stick' to utopian feels on 'We're Outside, Rejoice!'. It's a successfully ambitious project with distinctively ... read more

Tame Impala - Deadbeat

This felt like a complete step into a new genre to me which I was expecting after hearing 'End of Summer' when it released as a single. I enjoyed the first half much more than the 2nd. To me this album was creative and a different direction but at the same time it passed by easily for me and was close to boring me.

OsamaSon - psykotic

It's ok. 2nd project of this type I've listened to (Rest In Bass was the first). I enjoyed the first half much more than the 2nd but the production is consistently creative and intense for the least.

Young Thug - UY SCUTI

mid verses, generic beats, features carried, way too long, too many delays

Yeat - DANGEROUS SUMMER
NR

As someone who hasn't listened to any of Yeat's music since he released released AfterLyfe in February 2023, I found this EP very fun and consistent. The production is very well done and features play their parts nicely into their songs, and the songs have varying vibes to prevent this EP from becoming mundane. A well done project that's short, but entertaining enough to gain some insight as to what the next full length project might sound like. A solid 7/10 Yeat project imo.

JACKBOYS - JACKBOYS 2
35

Not a bad project, but the cover does a horrible job at describing the album in any way and while most songs were expected to be, and were trap beats they were bloated. 2 songs were ruined asw: Kick Out & PBT (could've been the next Travis summer song if not for the Burna Boy feature with spam airhorns. As much as I hate to say it the songs are bloated with features and like Utopia, it doesn't feel so structured but I guess that's to be expected from a label ... read more
