So disco really isn’t a genre I seek out, but I’m always down to listen to an album here and there when they come up on a list or through an album generator. That said, I’m always excited to hear something involving Nile Rodgers. He was on his own level, because his music is just so groovy, elegant, and classy. Yeah, he’s got tracks like “Good Times” that I’m honestly kind of burned out on, but once you get past the big hits and dig a little deeper, you’ll always find some goo quality music. Some of his more laid back tracks are actually my favorites.
Also, when I listen to albums he’s involved with, I’m constantly picking up on elements I already know, because they’ve been sampled so much by dance and hip hop producers. His music definitely outlived the genre and carried over into the sounds of future generations.
