I was 100% prepared for this to be a case of the internet overhyping something to oblivion. But holy shit, this was a fucking experience, PLEASE listen with the visuals on their own without distractions because this will seriously hit you like a ton of bricks. The way this completely takes over your body and emotions is fucking amazing. Genuinely breathtaking.
Maybe I'm a glazer, maybe I'm just so happy that this got dropped, maybe I'm delusional. AND I DON'T CAREEEE banger after banger after banger, the second half is GENERATIONAL. LIFE CHANGING PROJECT
This the guy that made rodeo? No but seriously, this is one of the most disappointing, flat projects of the year, and this has been a SERIOUSLY bad year for rap. I think 21's adlibs on kick out is the most unintentionally hilarious thing ever. The production, the rapping, it all just feels flat and lifeless. Don toliver is somehow the best part of this. The clipse diss was unnecessary and pathetic, it's like everyone saw what the Kendrick - drake beef did and said "we can do ... read more
I was hoping for him to suprise me, maybe throw in a few actual good decisions once in a while. Apparently it's impossible for Justin Bieber to make any remotely positive contributions to this world. I'd only listen to this again after a lobotomy and several Guinnesses.
What, me doing a review on something current and relevant? Well I definitely respect clipse immensely for their craft, and Pharrell's production is of course great. I think the initial response to this is a little overblown. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad album, it's just not the revolution some people would lead you to believe. For me it's a little repetitive at parts and some tracks lack depth. I think all things considered was the low point for me, and the only ... read more
One of my favourite bands recently, such a good sound hidden behind a genuinely funny gimmick
I'm not gonna say stick to animating because if someone wants to make music they absolutely should. But yikes.
I feel like stomach book made their sound clearer and less messy here. I think the mess isn't fully gone, which I sorta like as it's part of the identity of their sound for me, it's really enjoyable.
Spiritbox continues to evolve and improve their sound. The range of techniques and vocals displayed is jaw-dropping and they combine emotion and raw metal sound perfectly.
I always dismissed Radiohead as a rym/aoty circlejerk band that's just kind of okay, but this album was actually a great listen, although slightly dull at parts. I recommend it
I think people are unusually (or perhaps usually) critical on are you waiting and METANOIA. btw playing pretend is one of my favourite songs ever
