Scary Bitches - Lesbian Vampyres from Outer Space
70

This is alright. Not the best thing i've ever heard but i like it. Quirky and fun

Alice in Chains - Live
80

Great compilation. It has some stuff from their last show which is quite rare.

Alice in Chains - Black Gives Way to Blue
60

I don't like new Alice in Chains much. Most people say they don't because of William, but i disagree, i love his singing. The part that's mid as fuck to me is the songwriting and production. The songwriting doesn't make me feel anything and the production feels generic. They can do better

Alice in Chains - Alice In Chains (1989 Demo)
80

A lot better than the previous demo. In fact, i like the sound of theese better than the sound of Facelift. It's really powerful and heavy and Layne's voice is at its best here.

Alice in Chains - Alice In Chains (1988 Demo)
50

This kinda sucks. I like Alice In Chains but nothing in theese songs is special to me. They're kinda boring. But they definitely already had an intresting style.

Nirvana - With the Lights Out
90

My favourite Nirvana release. Very intresting songs here. At first i found most of this boring but it definitely grew on me. But some stuff here feels useless like the rough mixes, i know intresting demos that they could've put in the place of those.

Nirvana - Live at the Paramount
90

Good show. Though the sound is kinda scratchy, not sure if that's the right word but it's the best way i can describe it, and i don't really like that. But ignoring that, the performance itself is great and the setlist too. This version of rape me is my favourite.

Nirvana - 'Skid Row' Rehearsal 1987
89

Idgaf about the quality, theese songs are great and this style is really unique compared to their other eras. It feels fun. This is the most fun nirvana era.

Nirvana - Outcesticide: In Memory of Kurt Cobain
85

Great song picks. The quality sucks but that's not a problem considering it's a 90s bootleg. This must've been great for someone in the 90s who wanted more Nirvana stuff. Though some stuff here feels kinda useless, like the rough mix of paper cuts.

Nirvana - Live and Loud
90

Great show. Underrated too, people pick reading and paramount over this but i like this better than both shows. It's the only live album (not counting unplugged because that's a different beast) that has two guitars.

Nirvana - From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah
90

Underrated and underknown. This has a really good selection of performances from all throughout Nirvana's history. I like how they picked different versions of some songs rather than picking live versions that are the same as the album.

Nirvana - Blew
70

I like the version of Been a Son here better than the other one. Pretty good song selection but they missed the oportunity to add some more songs they had that weren't on any albums or anything at the time. I'd take one of the demos of the era over love buzz, which i think is pretty mid.

Nirvana - Hormoaning
70

This feels like an inbetween for Nevermind and Bleach. I love the title. There's a few filler songs but i like the rest.

Nirvana - MTV Unplugged in New York
85

Really classic performance. Well known for a reason. Great set and great sound. Kurt's voice was better for soft songs than for harsh songs, in my opinion.

Alice in Chains - Unplugged
100

The best unplugged performance of all timez in my opinion. All the songs picked fit. Just the right length. Well performed. Layne's voice had lost its power but its softer version fit the acoustic songs.

Metallica - ...And Justice for All
68

Nothing new to say. No bass. Boring. Only 3 good songs.

Metallica - Metallica
78

Overrated, in my opinion. But still good. The production to me doesn't feel perfect, it just feels so well-done and detailed that it just sounds like you're hearing the band. Like, there's nothing wrong with it but it doesn't make the sound any better. The songwriting itself is good but it's only great on a few songs.

Black Flag - Who's Got the 10½?
89

This is better than live '84. One complaint is that there is a longer version of this show out there but for whatever reason they cut some of the best songs for the release. If it had those songs and a video version this would be perfect.

Black Flag - Live '84
78

I'm rating this on performance rather than the songs themselfes. There's something about the feel of this album that i hate and love at the same time but i don't know how to describe it. It sounds raspy. Both the instruments and the singing. That makes me feel weird. The backing vocals fucking suck though, and the thing of letting the audience sing is cool for a live context but when you're just listening to it from a record or a phone it just sounds weird.

Black Flag - The Process of Weeding Out
75

I'm between the two takes that most people have on this. I think it's awesome how weird and experimental it is but it does also feel a little boring sometimes. One thing i can definitely say is that it doesn't have filler, it's just naturally long. But sometimes the randomness doesn't feel like cool punk rock chaos, it just feels random. Like when you're a kid and try to write a song but you just sing random notes and words and it doesn't make anyone feel ... read more
