Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
100

This is the best album of all time. I don't think it will be dethroned for a long time, or potentially ever. The lyricism is top tier, the flows are top tier, the production is top tier, everything is top tier. This album is also incredibly versatile, with songs ranging from the motivational Alright, to the tear-jerker of u, there is a lot to digest sonically on this album. This album lyrically is like a novel, a poem, and a documentary had a baby. There's so much to dive into, that I ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU

This was the first experimental hip hop album I had ever listened to, and I enjoyed it on first listen, but it took months for some of the songs to truly click with me. If you are unfamiliar with JPEGMAFIA, or experimental hip hop sounds, this is a good starting point, as there are songs on here that are less experimental, such as JPEGULTRA!, and either on or off the drugs. There's a lot to love on here, and the more time you spend listening to these songs, the more you begin to love all ... read more

¥$ - VULTURES 2

It's terrible. There are a couple (???) enjoyable songs on here, but the rest just sucks. It's wild how much of a fall from grace Kanye has had. This isn't worth the time it takes to listen to for many reasons.

beabadoobee - This Is How Tomorrow Moves

An unfortunate drop in quality from beabadoobee. The songs on this album are either fantastic, or boring and forgettable. For example, Beaches and California, my two favorite songs on this album, are absolute bangers that haven't left my rotation since I first listened to them. Whereas I couldn't even tell you anything about Girl Song or A Cruel Affair. Although growth as an artist is something to be celebrated, I would've loved to hear more Beatopia-esque songs on this album, as ... read more

I love this album. Each song feels like its own little world within the larger world of Beatopia. It is full of bangers, ballads, and everything in between, and I truly think there is something for everyone within Beatopia. There's only one song I would say I don't enjoy, which is fairy song. Bea's vocal performance on it is just a little grating, combined with the frankly annoying instrumental. That is essentially the only complaint I have with this album. 10:36, Don't get ... read more

Gunna - One of Wun

This album does nothing for me. It was my first Gunna experience and will probably be my last at least for a while. There are songs on here that are decent, mainly clustered on the front half of the album, but the rest are mostly forgettable. prada dem is definitely my favorite song on here. The beat is unsurprisingly repetitive, but Offset provides a decent verse that brings something different on an album full of the same. I would not recommend taking an hour out of your day to listen to ... read more
