Ye - BULLY

I don't know why people's idea of a Ye comeback album had to be this perfect Graduation level project. The man is undoubtedly out of his prime, which honestly makes me even more impressed with his latest project. The fact that after everything that happened, we were still able to get such a cohesive album blows my mind. With beautiful production, great flows, and a wide range of different sounds, this album feels like a tribute to all of his different eras. A lot of people are saying this is a bad thing?? Like are we expecting this man to still be pushing musical boundaries at nearly 50 years old? Well it is Kanye, so maybe, but not while he's going through mental health struggles and trying to right the wrongs of his horrible words and actions last year. Here we have fresh Kanye vocals, with tracks like Whatever Works and Punch Drunk making us reminisce over the College Trilogy era, delivering very familiar flows and clever lyrics that may have slightly less energy than 20 years ago, but how this cannot be appreciated by people is beyond me. All the Love feels like a mix of 808s and Heartbreak and Yeezus, with his best use of auto tune in half a decade, and King displays prime Yeezus flow. I could go on and on about how much I love this project, and how far it exceeded my expectations. It stays on repeat.
