AMAZING ASS RECORD. Love how this album played out, its hella cozy and jazzy. Both of the singers have this cute gentle like voice which is heavenly. Lots of amazing moments with the varied instrumentation and the vibe like flow which keeps me hooked on this album, a lot of the songs can be great picks for lounge music its nuts . This album has a really groovy rhythm to all of the songs that makes me swing my head from side to side or bop my head real hard like I'm listening to a rap ... read more
Mediocre album at best. Sounds all mighty with all of the orchestra and when some of the electronic instruments come in its like timed poorly in a way or the execution is sub par. Tries to sound like an grand Italian musical.
Stellar album. Has this mix of Black Jazz and Soul while also having this Japanese psychedelic sound done so exquisitely. Heavy 2000s sounds in the background but also melodically as well. Coming from a modern Hip Hop scene from Kid Cudi, Kanye, Tyler, and even some Persona 3 songs, I can say this album was a refresher on Rap for me. Lotus Juice was most likely influenced by this album.
I really think that this is a underrated album. I would compare this album to Cologne by Kaoru Akimoto, this album feels much more punchy and energetic, I feel like this album stems away from the City Pop genre to something like New Wave or Techno Kayo with Cologne being a much more City Pop like album in terms of flow and rhythm. I would also like to mention I've seen someone compare Midori Hara to Akiko Yano which I do agree with from the singing and even some of the instrumentation from ... read more
Only like the heavy rock songs on here like Understand and Motherless Child but what I will say that most of the songs sounds like typical grunge music to me. Carmen Maki's English is alright, like there will be times where her Japanese accent is clear to hear but overall probably not the best first album to be introduced to her. My opinion might change if I do listen to more Carmen Maki or go back to this album.
Really Jazzy feel to it, although the jazz gets really repetitive overtime and kinda overdo it a bit. I did like 4 of the tracks on this record and love "Tokyo Boogie Woogie", a lot of the whole album really brings it down and couldn't satisfy me.
This is peak Jazz Fusion right here. When it get serious it gets crazy, when it gets groovy you start to dance, when its chill its smooth from here. Love how many flows this album has, Toshiyuki and his saxophone really make this album a banger for me. Possibly my new Fav Jazz Fusion Record.
A very upbeat album with some weird synths at play but has uplifting moments with some of the piano songs.
Kanyes most underrated album to date. Goes in real deep with mental health with hype moments as well. More melancholy than 808s in some aspects.
Changed my life for the better, got me through tough times, this album is therapy.
The Breakup Album for me. (I've never been in a relationship but can relate to this album heavily.)
Kind of a mixed bag. Has the quirkiness of old Tyler the Creator with the creativeness of new Tyler. Has some weird decisions throughout the album.
Who knew I would hear the younger perspective album with the older me and the older perspective album (Face to Face) with the younger me.
Reminds me of Jack Stauber. Probably where he got his inspiration. Although I grew out of him.
Peak Jazz Fusion. I personally like the overload of synths and fast pace on this album compared to others which makes it my fav Jazz Fusion record.
