This has to go up there as one of my favourite albums of all time, not because of its cohesiveness, cause it's definitely not that... but the life and soul that was literally poured into this album by the gallon is off the charts.

There's just such a primal feeling I get when I listen to most the tracks on here, it sounds authentic, organic and Anderson is a master of finding the different pockets within the beats, in both a melodic and rapping format.

I'm gonna start with the production cause my goodness it's a killer, Dr. Dre and the people that were involved in bringing this project to life must've been on something cause its just so gritty and funky. Groovy basslines, tribal percussion and a variety of different influences. I love the Jamaican influence, especially in 'Left To Right' and 'Saviers Road'. Then you go to songs like 'Brothers Keeper' which is a passionate storytelling song over a powerful and soulful beat. There really is a lot of versatility to this album that is unlike most things I've heard.

You can tell Anderson .Paak is very culturally motivated, and you can tell by how faithful he is to creating the sound of the culture and genre in such a genuine way. As well as being actually funny in his storytelling, which is pretty hard to do. I don't find myself laughing with music much, normally I laugh if it's genuinely bad, but I swear Anderson should do stand up comedy.

The features are all solid too, only Anderson .Paak can get Kendrick, J. Cole, Snoop Dogg and Pusha T in one album. Crazy lineup.

This is what music is about. Just pure groove, experimentation, trying new things and actually caring enough to do the research of the sound he's going for.

This is in my opinion a classic album.
