Kanye West - The College Dropout

I can't say anything that hasn't been said, the rawest of Kanye's songs on this still feel polished yet so free and experimental. In a world of thug rap, Kanye talks about what he thinks, finds fun to talk about and likes to do what he wants while still boasting in a manner that doesn't feel unrealistic. This is a classic and a must hear album, he solidified himself as a producer and said "That's not all I can do" and proved it.

To this day this album is the only album in which I've cried to multiple songs off of.

In most of my reviews I talk about the production, beats, rhyme schemes etc...
Here I want to talk about what this album means to Kendrick. This album is about Kendrick's growth as a person and individual, he shows his opinion and ideas about so many dark topics that often aren't talked about in hip hop. Mr Morale is about topics such as modern relationships, transphobia, accepting help, ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

This album at first almost felt like a sellout for Kendrick, but that's definitely not what this is.

Wickedness or weakness? Good or bad? To be strong but evil or to be good but weak. That's what DAMN. is.
DAMN. was originally thought of by many people as a sellout album by Kendrick but that can't be farther than the truth. This album is filled with ideas and concepts that are just great, the introspective look on his own life (FEAR.), a outlook on his father's life and ... read more

J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive

This is an album I consistently come back to and it honestly sounds great, beats, production, rhymes and idea for a project are well done that's undeniable, but at the same time it felt like it lacked direction and didn't really have any main basis for an idea compared to other LP's such as My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Igor, and DAMN.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

In my humble opinion, this is the greatest album to ever be made.

To Pimp A Butterfly is an intriguing look into black culture, the treatment of African Americans in the United States, the greed humans can be tricked by, the invasion of the mind by Satan and the parallels between "Luci" or Lucipher and "Uncle Sam" or the USA is amazing. The use of non-conflictive story telling to paint the picture of an African American only for all this proof and evidence to be used in ... read more
