J. Cole - The Fall-Off

This project is proof to me, that todays mainstream hip hop has nothing to offer for those who are atleast a little bit familiar with the current underground scene. I feel this way because of the fact that no aspect of this album particularly shines and Cole is greatly outmatched in terms of lyricism, production, flows, character and pretty much anything you can think of by artists who barely have a fraction of the recognition he gets. The production is just about what you would expect from J. ... read more

I gotta say this album is easily one of the best modern hip hop projects. The main factor that makes this album what it is, is the perfected, contrast-driven griselda soundscape. Unfortunately a big disappointment…
I expected a perfectly executed blend of multiple genres, since the wait for this album was over 7 years. What we got however, was far from that. Whiskey features soothing jazz production and is in my opinion, the best track on the album. Punk Rocky stands out thanks to how different it is, that doesnt ... read more

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

While certainly not for everyone, it is probably my favoutite hip-hop album of all time. The production is the most old school and raw production on any album out there. RZA´s dark and grindy beats hit like a truck. There are ZERO SKIPS on here thanks to the amazing performance by 9 brutal mc´s. Their styles perfectly compliment each other. Simply put- perfect
