Post is a very colorful variety of a “pop” record. There are abrassive electronic moments like Enjoy and Army of Me, jazzy, passionately electric moments like its oh so quiet, modern things, isobel, and I miss you... Slow and drawn out ballads like Headphones and Cover Me, and a constant futuristic electronic buzz to it that rides tor most of the record, tracks like Hyper-Ballad remind me of walking into a busy, colorful arcade in a way, yet the songs feels some what dramatic like walking into a cave lined in illuminated crystals. Bjork’a perfomances are extremely intense and emotional. There is no limit on her vocals, she hits high notes and they engulf the entire instrumental. She is extremely tragic in many moments, and very vibrant in others. She doesn’t hold back like so many vocalists do, and it creates this extremely emotional storyline of the entire record. With that being said, Post by Bjork is an essential art project In Bjork’s discography and pop history.
