To me, this was just music. It kinda feels like the only people who could get a kick from this are people who only listen to Noah Kahan. The lyrical content felt a little corny and the album as a whole felt like one 49 minute song. Just a little overdone and uninteresting.
I really loved the sounds going on and I loved how intentional each song sounded. I do think there were a couple songs that are holding this one back for me. In general, I thought that the album was well executed on all fronts.
Big fan of this one. I’m not sure what this genre of music in considered but I like it a lot.
There’s this violin that has parts in almost every song and I think it’s a great touch to boost the experience of this album. The ideas for these songs alone are enough to satisfy me but that takes it the next step.
Each song almost sounds like a kid is tinkering with a toy they just got until they figure out how to make it work and the epiphany involved in that is like the climax ... read more
This record has got some sounds and a lot of energy, which I like. Gretel’s vocals seem like they’ve got some emotion in them and with the crunchy kind of filter she has over them makes it nice. There are some songs where the vocals go stale. Some of the songs slowed down and I wasn’t a huge fan of that but the record as a whole did have a decent flow.
I want to make it clear that I will never be revisiting any of the tracks on this record, HOWEVER! This was a very entertaining listen for me. This is my first full album exposure to Snoop Dogg and maybe that’s why I rated it so high but it was like funny bad but not entirely bad.
Not a fan on the last three songs especially. They’re super generic beats with some vocals that could use more life. They’re super generic first two songs, though did have some good flows but they did not impact the whole picture of this project in any way.
Very anticlimactic project. I struggled to find any variation in sound from track to track. It wasn’t super difficult to find a groove (for the most part) but a lot of the tracks were slow to start and peaked low.
Really big fan of the instrumentals but I was not so thrilled about the vocals and how they fit in.
I was torn on this one because I’m not all the way interested in this kind of sound but I do think he did a really good job keeping it interesting throughout the album.
The thing I did not like throughout the album was that there were a lack of drums or the drums were stale. Maybe that was the intention but I, personally, like more bounce.
Really strong first two songs and the rest of the listening experience goes a little stale.
Really good sounds and a great concept, given my expectation. This is my first Quadeca album and I really did love what I was hearing. I found it lacked enough interesting content for its length.
