This was a fascinating experimental kind of album that blends an acoustic singer/songwriter style with electronic music, ambient sounds, and effects that give this an almost alien feel. It is like there are these really intimate vulnerable sad songs behind a thicket of bushes made of sound. I like that. It elevates it from simply being a sad song played on a guitar and turns it into something more layered.
I like the imagery some songs invoke as well. Titles like "West Facing Window" where the last light is at the end of the day giving me pictures in my mind as I listen and just help make the experience a lot richer than I expected.
The instrumentals are quiet and thoughtful. I like how the vocals are produced. It's definitely a headphones on kind of listen and isn't easily accessible.
Not everything here resonatedwith me, but what I did like hit hard. "not yet", "next to the front door", and "fake your death" were highlights.
