I have to say, after the 37th listen the album got much better. I finally began digesting the deep concepts and the amount of pain and trauma that went into this album. The lack of drums on certain songs is a metaphor for the lack of presence of fathers in the black community. This is the music that can heal us all and lift this generational curse.
