Duki's "career defining album" leaves fans and casual listeners with the feeling that their expectations for the project were ultimately unjustified as soon as they finished listening to the whole thing. It's definitely an overhated album in my opinion, but the fact that this was rolled out to be Duki's most conceptual and experimental record for a year and a half gives a good motive for its hate, specially knowing the artist's recognition and his influence into the overall trap genre in Argentina and many other countries.
The tracks in this LP really do work better if played solitary rather than as a full length project, "Nueva Era" definitely proving to be the best song in here. As the album begins and drags on, the drum patterns and production begin feeling a little systematic and repetitive ("Brindis" and "Buscarte Lejos" having very similar if not the SAME drum pattern). There is quality in the melodies but it's never really polished, and sometimes Duki's off-beat performances hit the ear wrong in a way it makes the track less interesting to listen to. The features were overall average, none of them really got to shine, although there's some REAAALLY bad lines they've done (the Kylo Ren one...).
The writing from Duki's side just doesn't stay consistent in the project at all as it's able to show you a more vulnerable track and make it transition into a more aggressive one next, which it can work, don't get me wrong, but the lack of experimentation and variables production wise really don't help the case at all. There's no concept written in paper as it all gets lost in between each song and becomes a pile of overall ideas he had in his mind.
I'm very sure this album had potential and it shouldn't get as much hate as it has recieved, but it is disappointing to see such a rollout and year and a half of promises go down as more of a safe and commercial take instead of going deep into each concept this project brings.
