Oh. She is back.
Lorde is one of the singularly most impactful artists in my entire life. Everything that she touches is so meaningful to me I can't even explain it. I was in the rare pool of people who honestly liked Solar Power. Was it Melodrama? No. Will anything ever be that again? I don't think so.
This is close, though. It has that same magic -- listening to What Was That, Man Of The Year, and Hammer for the first time were actually religious experiences for me.

Miley Cyrus is really one of the most talented girls doing it today, she's not going to let you forget it.
She is SO ARTISTIC -- the full orchestra, the vocals, the visual component, the charisma. This album, in particular, is experimental and yet somehow, the most natural progression for her career yet. A lot of people didn't like Endless Summer Vacation that much, but honestly, I did. THIS ONE, however, demonstrates just how much she has grown in her ability to craft a complete, ... read more

It was the best of times (brat summer), it was the worst of times (failing of democracy), to quote an Instagram post I saw a few days ago.
I'm so happy for Charli and hope she revels in this success that she has SO deserved. She is so well established in this industry, but somehow has always toed the line of not being ULTRA famous, until now. And I hope she's enjoying her moment, because I do agree that she's ahead of her time and on top of her stuff.
