Anyways as someone who is a big fan of jpegmafia's music, especially OFFLINE! and scaring the hoes, I genuinely wasn't too impressed with this album and think it's easily his worst work since veteran. While I wouldn't go as far as calling this album bad like some others, I can get why people would think so.
The main problem with the album is definitely jpegmafia himself. While I mainly go to ... read more
I don't think there's much I can add to the discussion around this album. For sale? is extremely underrated with the extremely shiny production and the way it plays into the storyline going on at the time is amazing. Wesley's theory, these walls, u, how much a dollar cost, and mortal man all are some of my favourite Kendrick songs of all time, and every single track is of quality with their own little gimmick that makes them stand out. The album of the decade for me in the 2010s ... read more
I know Wayne is far past his prime at this point, but holy shit. First half is passable then from Island Holiday and beyond it combusts into some of the most baffling music I've heard all year. Welcome to tha carter and cotton candy I think are standouts though and peanuts 2 n elephant is too funny for me.
Personal favourite: cotton candy
Other standouts: welcome to tha carter, peanuts 2 n elephant
Least favourite: island holiday, mula komin, if I played guitar, just pick one of these ... read more
This album is genuinely one of my favourite albums of all time. At first I was indifferent to songs like short circuit, crescendolls, and even one more time that made me rate this album lower than what most other people would, but those songs have grown on me and combined with the other ridiculous highs of the record, it leads to one of the most reliable albums for me to listen to in pretty much any situation. Yeah for a house electronic album, this album is the standard to beat for me.

Maybe I just need to get used to this new sound Danny Brown is going for. Atrocity Exhibition and Scaring The Hoes are both album of the year in their respective years for me and ultimately even if this album is not for me. It seems to be making a bunch of other Danny Brown fans happy with Danny Brown himself just sounding like he's having fun on this album so ultimately my take shouldn't really matter to you if you love this album. I'll give this a relisten when my ears stop ... read more
The highs on here are immaculate. Dave is also one of the strongest lyricists I've heard this entire year with songs like my 27th birthday and fairchild being ridiculously lyrically. The production unfortunately just does not keep up on many tracks which does hurt the album a fair bit, but it's still worth a listen with fairchild genuinely being a soty contender for me.
Personal favourite: fairchild
Other standouts: history, no weapons, my 27th birthday, the boy who played the ... read more
First review on this site. Let's see how this goes.
Even if I personally prefer Bandana slightly over Pinata due to the highs, it doesn't have the consistency to allow me to put it above Pinata overall. Either way you can just never go wrong with Freddie Gibbs who is reliable when it comes to delivering high and top tier performances and Madlib who is a top 3 producer in the rap scene minimum. Songs like crime pays, fake names, and education are peak and the only miss on this album is ... read more
