this is so beautiful

the recording adds a lot of charm to make it even more incredible. it has that raw, unpolished feel that makes it timeless. this genuinely seems like it's a current indie band, i would never imagine it was from the 90s.
i think this feels like bit of dream pop too. The song "The Monotony of Jesus Christ" totally represents it, being melancholic and romantic with breathy vocals, i really enjoy this album.

This album is so consistent despite being long

Phil Elverum created a fusion that spans from free jazz to shoegaze. I love tracks like "Swallowed Alive", which explores a style of music I’ve never seen Phil execute before. I think my favorite track is "Demolition". I'm not exactly sure why, but it reminds me of GY!BE, maybe because it kinda a spoke word or somenthing like that.
