this song does this cool thing where the instruments feel like theyre spinning. like im sitting in a room with pretty sounds spinning around me and the vibe is immaculate. its also sweet and cute which always gets brownie points from me.

Very formulaic. Not really trying much new. But it's a good formula! The songs are pleasant to listen to and they have good energy! I do wish they tried some new things though. This doesn't feel so much like a whole album as it does a collection of rather throwaway singles. Good stuff, nothing special.
I don't have much to say but I loved this album. Superglue is pretty, ethereal, and feels like having an elementary school crush or playing with a kitten. I love it. Superglue especially hit me in the feels. "You'll never understand it, I'm completely lost in you" did things to me. "Don't Wanna Be Your Friend" is a self-care banger. "Backseat Driving" is a way to talk about love I haven't heard before and I think that creativity is neat. No skips and a great vibe. ... read more
i made an account just to review this album. jesus christ it was bad. i used to be an AJR fan. a big AJR fan. and every time they release an album i keep *wanting*, no, *BEGGING* to like it to justify my old self. but it never happens. and this just feels like a step back in every possible way.
what they continued doing on this album was the usual AJR bullshit: decent concept, ok vocals, then everything gets derailed by some weird production choice that leaves me wondering why the hell i even ... read more
