holy shit this is such an awesome debut of a band that i did not know the existence of until 40 minutes ago
the albums extremely short but its banger after banger, when songs build they really lead to an awesome explosion of adrenaline pumping, and crazy beats. the only song im not crazy about is clowns, the rest are genuinely some of the best of the year.
i might be having recency bias as i just listened to it but man this was epic.

i wanna wait to give a more in depth or exciting review, or may instead get too intimidated to do so, but the short version is to just call this album unique and incredible and hit post.

the atmosphere is so pleasant on this album, its perfectly concise, and the vocals and ESPECIALLY those harmonies really help elevate it, like the harmonies alone mightve added a whole 10 points to the score.

been obsessed with this lately so might as well just spill all my thoughts out

souvlakis a fucking banger, the dreamy, underwater like vibe to it is just an amazing backdrop for both the hooks and more atmospheric tracks

alison easily gets stuck in my head, probably the best verse hook on the album
machine guns chorus vocals are so dreamy that i feel like im floating
40 days is a tiny bit heavier but also its instrumental chorus is a top 5 moment on the album

this was my introduction to lupe's work, and it was a damm good one too, his lyrical ability, flows and hooks are on point, the jazz influenced beats feel simultaneously like something nujabes could make while also feeling wholly original to this work, and the hooks are catchy as fuck, especially on samurai, palaces and the brass hook on no. 1 headband.
