Basic Being Basic

Dare I say, it sounds like The Dare & LCD Soundsystem had a crossover here.

You wouldn’t think that would work, but man the groovy disco funk electronics with the laidback delivery are doing things to my loins I didn’t think possible. The lyrics here are very witty pop-culture references that gel together better than the average Charli xcx song. The track reminds me of “Electric Love” by BØRNS in a weird way, or maybe early Atlas Genius. Either way, it’s recalling parts of my childhood I didn’t think I could ever recover again.

If the rest of the album is anything similar to this, it’s going to slap hard. In other words, this track is anything but basic; it’s cool, exuberantly relaxed, and just pure vibes. 10/10.
