It's certainly an unusual opener, especially for it's time, but I don't find the pitched up vocals nearly as abrasive as people make them out to be, and that beat is heavenly.
Intimate, warm and lonely, this album isn't afraid to show a remarkable range over a somber and minimal backdrop to paint a kind of hearbreak adults cry about at night, behind closed doors, when nobody's watching. There's no doubt that this is the definitive 2010's pop and R&B masterpiece and a vessel for so many more stories for so many more people.
I thought this was one of the dumb AI tracks people drop to big artist pages to get quick buck, and it sure as hell sounds like it. Can we leave rap EDM remixes in 2010s?
This is technically impressive for sure, but what is the endgame here? Forgive me but I don't consider beef for the sake of it entertaining. What is he trying to achieve?
