As this trio continues their rollout for Sunshine, coming out later this year, I remain cautiously pessimistic about the project. "The Wave" follows in the steps of "Carry On" in being a track that, while fine on the surface, doesn't feel like it expands on the usual motions for Jungle.

I think that the reaction to this by many people is so heavy handed. Like yea, I'll admit, the autotuned vocals are far and away the worst bit of the song. The instrumental is upbeat and fresh, it feels exciting and has that punchy energy that I like, and the lyrics are interesting to say the least, but people saying that the intensity of the autotuning on this track makes it unlistenable is a little insane.

Fun, summery vibes with an upbeat energy bringing something new with the guitar/piano led track. It doesn't do anything wildly exciting, but it fits in with exactly what you expect out of this duo. They are, if nothing else, consistent.
