Yeah it's okay, I feel like Cole die-hards will eat it up and Cole haters will feel more justified in their distaste for his music. I'm somewhere in the middle this time. I've always been a Cole defender but I feel like I've been waiting for a while now to be surprised by his music and I just continue to find his work consistently familiar and safe. It's a solid formula, but it still feels like a formula.
My biggest take away is that J Cole is still an elite rapper who ... read more
More sonically diverse than their prior projects on the production end, but the flows remain relatively familiar. Mindless, fun, corny, goofy, unapologetic. It's JV&B, you basically know what to expect from them at this point.

I won't acknowledge the beef beyond this point. I grew up a Drake fan and have been mostly disappointed with the majority of his output since "Views". The industry is better off when Drake is in his creative bag, too bad I haven't felt that from him in years.
Drake has felt creatively stuck for the better part of a decade now and this album is a painful reminder that he either outright refuses or seems to be incapable of innovating his sound any further. His melodic flow ... read more
