felt like the newest saint motel album, i wish they went for a more energetic and bouncy sound like on hungry ghosts
i have to listen many more times but what a beautiful album wow
like tiktok but in album form, cool sound design and would work very well at a rave where everyone is off their face on some sort of hallucinogenic. some great hyperpop sounding moments on the album - i reckon if skrillex released a hyperpop album it would be incredible
cool uses of orchestral instrumentation, especially in the intros of many songs, but the potential is often wasted i felt on a much more generic pop feel for the rest of the songs, e.g hold my place in heaven and steady hand. didn't really like the lyricism and sometimes felt that i was listening to a crossbreed of imagine dragons and ajr. still some solid tracks.
a sparse electronica album that takes the synth style from artists like kenya grace and the genre of liquid dnb and uses it in slightly more musically creative ways, creating a sound that has influences from albums such as dsvii by m83 combined with a heavily processed and resampled vocal similar to charli xcx
some nice big sounding moments that surpass the typical indie sound at times
really cool instrumental sections, not crazy about the lyrics at times but i think that dream theater fans will be very happy with this release
